Hi, my name is Michelle! I'm a versatile software engineer with over 6 years of professional experience in front-end frameworks and back-end systems. My work focuses on the intersection between user experience engineering and data analysis, creating experiences that not only look and perform great but also adapt to user behavior and success metrics.
After obtaining my B.S. in Computer Science from San Jose State University, my career journey began with front-end development, expanded into building back-end systems and DevOps pipelines, and now extends to exploring the field of big data and AI. I'm passionate about building dynamic, scalable, user-centric solutions and am continuously learning to improve processes and outcomes.
When I'm not creating something digitally, I enjoy creating things from yarn, playing a variety of cozy or strategy games, or sightseeing with a cup of matcha~
Led teams of engineers to successfully deliver prototypes of PX Cloud and AppDynamics commerce demos on tight deadlines. As an front-end engineering point-of-contact for our team, I streamlined communication between multiple teams by exchanging feedback between design & development and planning API structures with back-end teams. Supported other team projects by advising and implementing best practices, providing security maintenance, and conducting code reviews.
Developed features and deployed monthly to enable CX/PX Cloud release tracking. Generated lots of data on the back-end and introduced seamless integration between customer and partner prototypes by establishing database relationships. Outside of my day-to-day work, I contributed to the start of our inhouse CMS, architected and implemented a digital asset management system, and teamed up with data science to improve training processes and analysis tools for CX chatbot data.
Working with some high-profile clients, I developed features to production standards, ensuring seamless API integration, pixel-perfect design to code translations, and responsive & cross-browser implementation. To increase conversion rates and sales, I optimized for the tried-and-true in the commerce industry - performance (first contentful paint) & SEO - and implemented A/B testing to better understand what works for our users. Developed on the back-end API servers and worked directly with clients to deploy environments during high-traffic seasons.
Built marketing landing pages and full-stack apps for Encora's clients. While my internship was front-end focused, I developed a login server and helped the back-end team resolve bottlenecks by optimizing PDF generation and recommendation queries.
